__Welcome to the Shepherd's Heart Old Orthodox Fellowship !
Formed in 2011, to serve the greater Omaha metro area, the Fellowship is comprised of believers from all walks of life who have chosen to follow Christ in truth and spirit. We have been called to be a community of hearers and doers of the Word.
We have answered God's call to demonstrate our love for our Creator through service to our brothers and sisters. Because of our diverse backgrounds, interests, locations, education, training and life experience, our ministries take a variety of forms: we are pastors, chaplains, spiritual directors, healers, contemplatives, religious, and friends, working in social service agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, ministries, and the world.
Far from perfect, we’ve simply re-discovered the ancient way of living life and being Christ-like together through the wisdom, guidance and unifying force of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to advancing God's kingdom by proclaiming the Good News to the least, the lost, and the lonely.
Far from any individualism or authoritarianism, the Fellowship relies not on external power, nor on isolated efforts, but solely on divine grace and brotherly love in order to stay united. Service and prayer are at the heart of our experience.
Far from wanting to clash or compete, we pray that we can collaborate, wherever possible, so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can be preached to our parched and broken world. We deeply regret the fact the Christendom has been shattered and we pray that God will speedily restore our unity, so that the world will recognize us as his disciples by the love which we have for one another.
Finally, we act upon one unifying motive: a love for Christ, His gifts, His creation, His Word and the Sacraments. That is our centering point. That is our unity. We always remember the advice of a great man of God, St. Cuthbert, who said: “Do not ever think yourselves better than the rest of your companions who share the same faith".

_Troparion of the Presentation of Jesus, September 2nd. Tone 1
Rejoice, thou who art full of grace, Mother of God and Virgin, for from thee arose the Sun of Righteousness, Christ our God, to give light to those in darkness. Rejoice thou also, righteous Elder, who didst take in thine arms the Redeemer of our souls, Who also gives us the grace of resurrection. Kontakion of the Meeting Tone 1 Thou Who didst sanctify the Virgin's womb by Thy birth and bless Symeon's hands as was fitting hast now come to us and saved us, O Christ our God. But grant peace in the midst of wars to Thy community, and strengthen the Church which Thou hast loved, O only Lover of mankind. |
